PIRLIRRPA EDUCATION PROGRAM

SPRING HILL

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ST. JAMES COLLEGE

The Pirlirrpa Education Program at Spring Hill is one of Queensland's most unique flexible education programs. Pirlirrpa provides Senior Education curriculum while also focusing on the importance of the student's well-being. The program encourages students to explore and experience the integration of all parts of their lives in a supported and structured way. The aim of this integration is to increase understanding of self and others while creating or renewing interest, awareness and pathways to a more fulfilling future.

The program is centred on an inclusive ethos, coupled with provision of supported, individual care and a focus on learning. It provides young people who are marginalised, isolated and “at risk,” an avenue to complete Senior Education.

The Pirlirrpa Education Program provides a combination of Core Authority - registered subjects and electives, that include VET Certificates through St James College, TAFE Schools Program QLD and Volunteering Queensland. Pirlirrpa offers students the opportunity to complete their QCE via a VET Pathway, while assisting students to explore and address challenges and barriers that have previously prevented completion of studies.

Our partnership with St James College continues to serve students joining the program, in their journey to thrive under the leadership of St James College Teachers Sam and Heidi, and YOS Youth Worker - Health and Well-being, Maree.

The Pirlirrpa Education Program is individualised and holistic, providing each student with a YOS case worker to support their lifestyle issues and teachers to provide academic support through flexible delivery of curriculum material in small class sizes, located in a youth friendly environment.
